Hi! My name is Carlos de la Fuente Lucas-Torres, and I am a freelance Composer and Sound Designer specializing in various media, including TV, films, and video games. A musician since the age of 7, I am a composer recognized with numerous national and international awards, including The Akademia Music Awards (Los Angeles), Paris Play Film Festival (Paris), Stafford Film Festival (Stafford), Global Music Awards (California), and the Berlin International Film Scoring Competition (Berlin), among others.
Currently, my professional career is focused on composition and sound design for video games. I have also had the privilege of teaching a master’s course in composition and sound design for video games, where I worked extensively on interactivity and workflow using tools like FMOD and WWISE, integrated within game engines such as Unreal Engine. My approach centers on bringing the sound and music experience to life in interactive environments, helping create immersive experiences for players

In this sound redesign of The Last of Us Part II, every detail was crafted from scratch to immerse the listener in its intense world. From environmental textures to footsteps, weapons, breathing, and visceral impacts like blood splatter and cuts, each sound enhances the atmosphere. This redesign captures the raw emotion and brutal realism of the game.

For the sound redesign of Splinter Cell: Blacklist, every element was meticulously crafted from the ground up. From atmospheric sounds that heighten tension to detailed footsteps and tactical gadget effects, each sound enhances the stealth-driven gameplay. This redesign emphasizes the immersive and suspenseful experience iconic to the Splinter Cell series.

The sound redesign for Alien: Isolation captures the tension of survival through mechanical noises, the protagonist's footsteps, and immersive UI voice prompts. Each sound, from the hum of machinery to subtle environmental cues, was meticulously crafted to heighten the feeling of isolation and keep players on edge.

For the sound redesign of Instinction, a survival game featuring dinosaurs, I meticulously crafted immersive audio elements to bring the prehistoric world to life. From dense jungle ambiences to the guttural roars of dinosaurs, each sound was designed to captivate players. Foley work, including rustling foliage and clothing movements, adds realism, ensuring every step feels authentic in this primal setting.

In the redesign of Corepunk, I focused on crafting an immersive auditory experience for this MMORPG. My work encompassed UI sounds, attack effects, mining, crafting, and other essential elements, ensuring a cohesive and engaging soundscape. Each sound was tailored to enhance gameplay immersion and reflect the game’s unique atmosphere..

PERSONAL PROJECTS

I’ve created masterclasses and courses on Unreal Engine that make learning programming through Blueprints accessible and engaging. I also show how to bring audio to life in a game engine by using tools like FMOD and WWISE, making it easy to create immersive and interactive soundscapes.

AUDIO-FORGE is my personal brand specializing in the creation of virtual instrument libraries (VSTs) and sound libraries for video games, film, and television. My mission is to provide creators with innovative and immersive audio tools.
